Why did you choose to pursue physical therapy? My interest in physical therapy was driven by my interest in exercise science and my experience in rehabilitating injuries. As a former collegiate volleyball player, I’ve endured numerous injuries and have had Physical Therapy for my ankle and shoulder. The treatment I received from my PT not only helped me get back on the court but also inspired me to pursue this career.

Why did you choose to pursue physical therapy? I have always been involved in sports as a kid until now as an adult. Over the many years of softball, I have had many aches, pains, and injuries done to my body. I am lucky to say I never had a big injury that would make me have to do physical therapy, but there were and are problems I have with my body that I should have gone to PT for. Since senior year in high school, I have always thought that it would be awesome to help people learn and take care of their bodies like I never did to my own. After studying Kinesiology, I have learned a ton about my own body’s problems and how to fix them. Putting that knowledge into play with the community can make people’s lives so much better and having that would be the greatest satisfaction to me and my patients. PT is an amazing career and I cannot wait to start!
What physical therapy school(s) do you hope to attend? Right now, I am looking to stay local to the bay area, but one school, like many other people, has caught my eye. That would be UCSF. The vibes of the students I met at a conference was awesome and made you me welcomed and reassured me that there is nothing to worry about with my future. Also, their anatomy lab was to die for! The course curriculum was outstanding, and the diversity was great as well!
