Why did you choose to pursue physical therapy? I always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare that allowed me to bring positivity in others lives. Being an exercise enthusiast got me interested in physical therapy. I am intrigued by the resilience of human body. As I learned more about physical therapy, I came to acknowledge that I will be able to leave a positive impact in someone’s life by helping them more effectively. Why did you choose to pursue physical therapy? I chose physical therapy because I’m passionate about helping others. It is an intrinsically rewarding profession, which is why I decided on it. There were three factors that helped solidify my desire to pursue PT. I dislocated my patella multiple times, and I underwent PT. It was an eye-opening experience and something that I found an interest in. The second factor was that my grandfather had gone through PT after recovering from a spinal infection. Helping and encouraging him to do his exercises and then seeing him be able to walk again was well worth it. The final factor was my cousin who is a practicing PT. He encourages and helps motivate me to continue to pursue PT. Helping others recover and seeing the progress patients make, inspires me to continue to do more.

What specialties are you interested in? Not sure yet, I have been thinking about pediatrics or geriatric work. I may also want to do research in technology (VR/AR) and rehabilitation.

What physical therapy school(s) do you hope to attend? Pacific University, SMU,
